FALL COLOURS IN MUSKOKA

While This Picture is from last fall it won't be long now
There is a chill in the air and some trees are starting to put on their fall colours.
With temperatures dropping overnight we actually had the furnace on at our little hideaway over the weekend

There's a chill in the air in late August? We still have September, October, and November to go. Maybe even part of December before the chill hits.
Kathy: Your area does have a gorgeous turn of colors from the summer to fall!!!
Well, THIS end of California gets a chill and pretty colo(U)rs (just not quite as beautiful as those in your picture) but it's not here quite yet! Enjoy!
Eric - variety is the spice of life and we do get that with four very distinct seasons.
Jane - last year the colours in Muskoka peaked a little over a month from now
" During the past 35+ years, the earliest fall colour peak recorded was September 15, 1982, and the latest October 9, 1996. The average peak of the Sugar Maple canopy in the western portion of the Highway 60 Corridor is September 27. source the Friends of Algonquin Park
Ed - I will post more for your enjoyment later as they appear.
Kathy,
While I love crisp fall foliage shots, there's a lot to be said for ones with the mist in them. :)
Steve
Steve - there is nothing more fallish than a morning mist rising off the water with the colour of the leaves peeking through.
Kathy, it's August! I can't get my arms around fall just yet! Nice photo.
Patrica - I was amazed to see the beginnings of colour up north on the weekend
Kathy, I love that photograph. I am really looking forward to fall. It is such a special time of year.
Cal
Kathy, that is a beautiful photo...fall is my favorite time of the year and as tough as Chicago winters can be I still love them.
Cal - I feel sorry for anyone who does not get to enjoy all four very distinct seasons
Nick - chicago certainly does get its share of tough winters
Kathy, thanks for sharing this beautiful fall photo...it's my favorite season, even though we don't "quite" get the same 4 seasons as you do (ours are a lot more mild, i.e. no snow). :)
Leilani
Leilani - No Snow - I can't imagine life with out snow it's big part of the season
